Members invited to join our CSRD implementation /compliance group
The EU recently introduced a new law that will obligate firms to report on and share information across a wide range of sustainabiltiy areas. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) aims to vastly increase the transparency and accountability of businesses and brings sustainability reporting to the same level as financial reporting, with all the obligations and governance it requires.
It is a complex law, supported by nearly 1000 data points in new standards, and companies of all shapes and sizes have rapidly had to upskill to understand the requirements and make sure they are complying effectively. Specifically the new law requires large private companies to disclose risks faced and impacts caused by company operations on the climate, land environment, nature and other metrics, as part of a new concept called 'double materiality'. CSRD is also extra-territorial meaning that non-EU companies face obligations if they operate in Europe.
To help members understand the law, and figure out how to implement require we have set up a new mailing thread the help members share pain points, discuss compliance strategies and understand the requirements better. This will be supported by resource sharing and calls. Anyone interested in joining this please email [email protected].
